Miclen LaiPang

Miclen has been hailed as “a force to be reckoned with” by The New York Times and praised by Die Welt as “a musician of daring virtuosity with gripping access and noble elegance.” Recognized worldwide for his accomplishments as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster, Miclen has captivated audiences in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, St. Martin in the Fields, and many others. He has performed in over 60 countries and has won multiple international awards, while having recorded numerous CD’s on both Sony RCA Red Seal, Naxos, and more. An avid and dedicated chamber musician, he is a regular guest at festivals in North America, Europe, and Asia, and has had the privilege to collaborate with international artists such as Ivry Gitlis, Janos Starker, and Peter Serkin. His primary mentors have included Ruggiero Ricci, Charles Castleman, Boris Kuschnir, Aaron Rosand, Ida Bieler, and Alice Schoenfeld. Currently, Miclen resides in Paris where he is the violinist of the internationally acclaimed Trio Zadig. He is the Artistic Director of the Miesbach Kammermusikfestival, the Festival of International Artists in Cambridge, Co-Artistic Director of Zadig & Friends, and teaches at the International Chamber Music Academy in Ochsenhausen. He performs on the 1707 Antonio Stradivari ‘Charles Castleman, ex-Marquis de Champeaux,’ generously loaned by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, and the c.1850 Dominique Peccatte bow known as the ‘ex-Eugène Ysaÿe.’
